What does a SHIBUYA SKY ticket include?
Entry at your booked date and 20-minute window to the whole deck: the Sky Gate lift ride, the indoor Sky Gallery on the 46th floor and the Sky Stage roof. There is no time limit once you are in, but no re-entry once you leave.
What is the difference between the Daytime and Sunset fares?
Only the entry time. The Daytime fare is for windows from 10:00 to 14:40; the Sunset fare is for windows from 15:00 to 21:00. The deck prices the two bands differently, and we mirror that. Both cover the same visit.
Which window should I book to see the sunset?
One that starts about 40 to 60 minutes before sunset. In Tokyo that ranges from about 16:30 in late November and December to about 19:00 in late June and early July. Our month-by-month table gives a window to ask for.
How far ahead can I book?
SHIBUYA SKY puts each date on sale two weeks ahead, at midnight Japan time. For dates further out, hold your date with us at no cost and we email you when it can be booked.
Why can't I find a sunset window on my date?
Because they sell first. The windows from 15:00 often sell out soon after a date goes on sale. Hold the date with us: places freed by cancellations go back on sale, and we watch for them.
Can I buy a ticket at the door instead?
Only if there are places left. When the adult windows for a time are sold out online, the 14th-floor counter has none to sell either, so a sold-out sunset cannot be rescued on the day.
Can I book tickets for my children here?
No. SHIBUYA SKY sells children's tickets (ages 11 and under, and 12-year-olds still at primary school) only at its 14th-floor counter, on the day, with the child present. Under-6s and preschoolers go in free. Book adult places here for everyone aged 12 and over.
Who counts as an adult?
Anyone aged 12 and over, except 12-year-olds who are still at primary school. They count as children and buy their ticket at the counter.
Where do I go on the day?
To the 14th floor of Shibuya Scramble Square, directly above Shibuya Station. The quickest way is the SHIBUYA SKY lift on the outside of the building at street level. Not the Sky Lobby in Shibuya Hikarie next door, which is a different building.
What if I arrive late for my window?
Staff may ask you to wait for a later time or turn you away, depending on how busy it is, and nobody goes in after 21:20. Aim to reach the 14th floor at the start of your window.
Can I change the date or time of my ticket?
No. SHIBUYA SKY does not change the date or time on a ticket once it is issued, so choose a window you can reach comfortably.
What can I take onto the roof?
Your phone, and a camera or binoculars on a neck strap or small enough for a pocket. Bags, hats, tripods, selfie sticks, earphones, food and drink go into the lockers on 46 before you step outside.
Can I bring a suitcase?
No. Large luggage, suitcases included, is not allowed into SHIBUYA SKY. Leave it in a Shibuya Station locker or at the shibuya-san tourist information centre in Shibuya Fukuras before you go up.
What happens if it rains or the wind is strong?
The roof can close at short notice for wind, rain, snow, thunder, smog or extreme heat. The indoor Sky Gallery on 46 stays open with the view through glass. The deck gives no refunds or discounts after entry, so check its live rooftop status before you set off.
How long should I plan for?
Most people spend an hour or more, and there is no time limit. For a sunset, allow time before the sun goes down and stay on for the lights coming on across the city.
Can I see Mount Fuji from SHIBUYA SKY?
On clear days, yes: it sits to the west. Haze hides it on many days, especially in summer. Tokyo Tower, Tokyo Skytree and the Shinjuku towers are easier to spot.
Is SHIBUYA SKY wheelchair accessible?
Mostly. Wheelchairs and mobility scooters can visit, there is a priority lift, and staff may offer a deck wheelchair. A few parts of the roof cannot be reached on wheels.
Who are you?
An independent booking service. We are not SHIBUYA SKY or Shibuya Scramble Square. We book adult entry for the date and window you choose and email you the e-ticket; the price shown includes our service.
Smaller questions
Is there a toilet I can use?
Yes. There is an accessible toilet on the 46th floor, next to the Sky Gallery. There is a baby room on the same floor.
Can I eat or drink on the roof?
Only at the bars. Food and drink cannot be brought in, chewing gum included. Paradise Lounge on 46 and, in season, the rooftop bar serve drinks; everywhere else is food-free.
Can I charge my phone up there?
There are ChargeSPOT battery-rental points at the 14th-floor ticket counter and in Paradise Lounge on 46. You need the ChargeSPOT app.
Is there parking at Shibuya Scramble Square?
No. The building has no car park, cycle parking or drop-off area of its own. Come by train: the tower sits on top of Shibuya Station.
I lost something at SHIBUYA SKY. Who do I ask?
The deck uses the find lost-property search service. Search there first, then write to us with your booking reference if you need help.
